We spent the day at Herriman State Park. We volunteered at the warming hut, and then after learned a bit about rangering with our frinedly helper Forrest the Ranger. :) for some other pictures from Herriman go here
after stadium singing tonight, some people were throwing these parachute guys off the top of the stadium. after making sure they didnt want them any more, i picked up two of these guys. i might have fun with them soon.
so for one of my classes today, we went to the Wildlife Exhibit to rate it and see how interpritve it was. they had some cool exhbits, but also had some flaws. but, here are some other pictures from the exhibit.
you get three pictures today. showing all the excitement
This picture shows the snow we got. i was so excited to get some fresh snow. i thought it was cool that it just stayed on my jacket, and you could see the different snow flakes.
this pictures shows a printer cable that i got! since moving, i havent been able to use my printer- my current computer uses only USB cables, and my printer didnht have one, so i got one today in the mail (now if i could only get the right drivers on my computer to make it work, that would be ideal)
while i was home, i got a keyboard, since i use it better, and dont hit random keys while type. its missing keys at this point because they dont work. i'm not sure why, and i really hope that it is fixable. i have the keys pried off because i was hoping that i could get whatever was under it making it not work, i could get out. unfortunately, it didnt work, but they get to stay off so i remember to hit the right key on my laptop keyboard. :)
also, this weekend while i was home, we cleaned off mom's old computer in preparation for her inheriting my old computer. i re-discovered this song, and felt like sharing it. i forgot how much i enjoyed this song.
Reading in my Idaho Master Naturlist book, i learned that we are partaly dinosaur, the minerals are recycled through people, so a some of the minerals going through our bodies, used to belong to a dinosaur a couple million years ago!
So, the last few days, i've taken a lot of crap shots- and its jsut a matter of which one comes out best. tonight was much the same "which of all these un-meaningful pictures came out best" hopefully in the next few days, it will improve, and i'll want to take some sort of good picture. tonight, you get a picture of me and three friends that knew each other before missions. they are the only people at school i know who arent married (or have plans to any time in the near future :D), and so actually have time to spend with friends. tonight, we went to the planitarum.
for a couple other pictures from the planitarium, go here
Some friends and I went out to Barbeque tonight. Since the sign said it was pulled pork, I was really hoping that it would be the pulled pork like I got spoiled having in the South. This stuff, sadly, did not meet expetations. You know that stuff like sloppy joes that they call pulled pork at the ward activites? That stuff has never been one of my favourite meals- and that's what this pulled pork stuff tasted like. I was really sad. Happily, we went out for ice cream right after, and that made up for it.
I'm only used to seeing things like this on Church bilboards. but its not. it was some sort of other company (i cant remember which) in case you cant read it (yes, i know the camera still sucks. i'm working on it- i should have one deffinately by Saturday, hopefully), the sign says "the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them [~]JFK"
the picture i really wanted, i cant get. its on my camera's actual memory (i forgot the memory card when i was out and about today)and i dont have a cord from my camera and my computer (i think it somehow got left in Kentucky). the picture i really wanted was of my roomate eating stolen ice cream. but, this will have to do.
in the mean time, this was amusing, and i wanted to share
For my group organ class, we have to find a pair of organ shoes, so we can correctly use the pedals. real organ shoes cost $50. being a college student, i dont have that much. so i've been on the hunt for some similar. so far, nothing has cropped up, and i've decided that the general population of womans shoes is really stupid, and i'm glad i'm not a shoe shopper, nor care about the current shoe trend (as long as they are comfortable, and i can do a lot of walking in them, then they work).
I know my camera sucks, and you cant really see any of the pictures that I take, but I got bored when I had an hour long break between two classes today. I happened to be in the Romney building, which always has some sort of exciting displays. I wandered around, handy (or not so handy) camera in pocket, and found some stuff from the Geology department. This picture came out the best. It is some fossilized plants of some sort. They also had some other fossils, and other really cool looking rocks so I hope the display doesnt go away to soon. As soon as I get a better camera, I'll take some better ones.
So, I still don't have a camera, and not being sure when I'll get one, I started working on a project. I decided to scan all the mission pictures I had printed (and no longer in digital form), and save them all to a flash drive. I finished the night before I came back to school. Then, I decided, why not make it so that everyone can see them. Being bored tonight, and not knowing anything better to do, I decided to upload all of my mission Pictures. There were more than I realized, considering my camera broke at the end. Anyhow... I hope y'all enjoy! Please also enjoy these songs while looking at the pictures Song 1 Mission Album 1 Song 2 Mission Album 2 another song, for good measure
