I've had this project I wanted to do for some time now, but haven't had the opportunity to get the materials or really had time to do much. A few days ago, we got the material, they had a great sale on flannel at Walmart. Now just to do the project. Hopefully tomorrow.
This was a whole lot easier than I first envisioned it being. It helps that I used our blender to chop the strawberries, instead of using a potato masher (our potato masher doesn't work so well on strawberries). It didn't turn out so jam-y, definitely more of a strawberry juice, we'll have to keep it in the freezer after they are opened. But hopefully it will still be good. I also never tasted it during the process, and there wasn't any small bits left over after filling the jars like there was whenever mom made some. I guess it will be a surprise for when we do get into them!
I experimented today with making an angel food cake (Happy birthday to Drew!). I've never had it in my life before today, certainly never made it, and had no idea just how big of an "extra big" mixing bowl I would really need. The box (yep, this cake came from a box) said to beat it for a minute 30, this was after about 10-20 seconds.... I don't think I beat it for even a whole minute before calling it good. It turned out tasty though. It reminded me vaguely of cotton candy in cake form.
Today was my glucose tolerance test to see if I have gestational diabetes This stuff certainly wasn't my favorite. It made me super thirsty and need to pee even more than normal (I was glad they didn't make me wait too long before calling me back for my routine pee test). I'm sure glad that I know for certain now that I don't have gestational diabetes though. That's one less thing to worry about.
After our trip home from the baby shower a few weeks back, the clothes we were donated all ended up mixed up in bags. wanting to clean out at least a little room, I decided to sort clothes today. unfortunately, most of the clothes are ones that can't go in storage under the bed, since we'll need them sooner, rather than later.
We had the computer drop calls left and right on us tonight. plus, I was on the phones for almost 5.75 hours straight (yay for 10 minute dinner breaks and two or three pregnant lady bathroom breaks!) I made 248 calls, and only had 10 completes. Sadly, the computer dropped 3 of my calls, and there wasn't a way to re-dial them right away. :P
I got a job doing some white glove cleaning/between semester apartment cleaning. this is the bucket of stuff I picked up at the dollar store for it. everything in the bucket (including the bucket) is from the dollar store :)
The baby shower tonight had a sci-fi theme. Ducks like these were both party favors and center pieces. We were sent home with a complete set. I'm sure that our little boy will have a good time with them.
Drew was super proud of the work he did building his sister's computer, and how clean it was inside. He took a few pictures to show off to people at work. They also happened to be the only pictures taken today
