We needed to go to walmart to pick up a few things for drew's family anyhow (and wanted to get out of the house), so we decided to go and see how many people would be around for black "Friday" Thursday night. this is looking down the isle towards electronics
We were at the DI tonight, to get out of the house for a bit. We saw all these boxes and wondered "what's in them all?" the answer? Nothing!! just a bunch of empty boxes with Styrofoam in them to ship parishables. this, to me, seemed absolutely ridiculous. there were TONS of them! There were even more than this out in the back yard area. it also makes me wonder where did they all come from?
I was about to start just taping up our festive thanksgiving leaves, since we weren't comming up with a better idea, when Drew, in all his creativity, made a wreath out of them. it now hangs proudly on our front door.
As we walk by the alleyway to and from work, or to the car or back home again, or any number of other reasons, there seems to almost always be people there, taking pictures. I've never understood why, i just always find it amusing. Apparently pictures down a dark alleyway are greatly prized?
the weekends are typically days that I am horrible at doing dishes. Unfortunately, it started to pile up way before the weekend, so the dishes are worse than ever. this is motivation to get it done, and have a better picture of it tomorrow.
We went to the dollar store today, to see what they had by way of decorations. this was it. packs of paper leaves. they had a TON of christmas stuff, but this was it by way of thanksgiving. we aren't sure yet what we'll be doing with them, but at least its a start.
We were given a started for some Amish Friendship bread. All told, I love the bread itself, but I hate being given a starter, or giving it to anyone (because then it eventually makes it back to me... and I have to take care of it again). this time, we decided to try and make it all up (using the starters you should give away as the base for the loaves). we got nearly all the way done with it all before we had to go to work. It was a lot of bread (most of which ended up in the freezer).
I went to the testing center, looking to see if I could be re-hired for Winter semester. Unfortuantely, the lady I needed to speak with wasn't there (she was out of the office all week), so I'll have to wait.
