We went to walmart today, to get a basket for my bike (to better carry groceries with), and some knobs for our bathroom cabinets (they only have one knob, and need two... unfortunately they don't come in singles.). we got home and started to put the basket on my bike... it didn't fit. and the knobs on the cabinet doors... the screw weren't long enough. both were huge disappointments.
These little bugs like to eat potatoes (and tomato plants too, we've heard). we found an infestation of them in our garden, eating and demolishing our potatoes. we were most disappointed. upon further research, we've discovered that most pesticides don't work, and that the ones that work well are only available for commercial use. its been a big disapointment.
Because today was Pioneer day, observed, we were able to spend some time cuddling on our new couch, watching star trek (various episodes of the original series, next gen, and voyager) and eating watermelon
At work today, we had a teacher call and say he was missing a test, but that he had already picked them all up. Our supervisor, not being sure that it was in the mix he had picked up, was going to walk all the way up the hill to his office to take a look for herself. My coworker offered her a ride on his dirt bike. She surprised us all by accepting the offer.
I got this shot while listening to my professor tell stories about people jumping off the bridge we just crossed, and dying because they weren't smart about it. just another reminder to me to not do anything like that.
It was SOOOOO hot tonight, so we moved the mattress off the bed, and put it beneath the window to try and get some of the breeze that was coming in. right before we did this, we soaked ourselves in cold water, to try and evaporate it and make it better, and as i was taking a drink, i noticed that it wasn't even just room temperature, it was hot.
I sat outside for a few minutes after taking a hard test, just enjoying the sunshine, and the feeling of not doing, and not thinking, just being still. i was drawn and looked at these beautiful roses and the rose blooms next to me for a good long while, and eventually decided to share them with the rest of you.
I've seen this before, and always wanted to get a picture. today presented a great chance. the home strech of a 40 mile ride (in 2.5 hours!), with no one waiting for me to catch up (i'm always the slowest of the group). i took the opportunity to share this wonderful part of rexburg with the general public.
