High-five flower

So, I don't know what this flower is really called, and haven't looked it up, but I like that all the petals are on one side, a lot like it is giving a high five to passers by.

Rules and Regulations

Aparantly security went around putting up these signs on all the bike racks around campus. unfortunately, it also means i now have to have a permit to park on campus, or fear my wonderful bike being impounded... how silly of them... especially since i'm not a student, and only visit at lunchtimes.

More ducks

Whenever I get the chance, I like to come down to the nature park just to take some time away from the apartment and spend some much needed time in the great outdoors. the ducks happened to be out and about today as well.

Cookie dough ceiling

We went out to the civil defense caves today. It was pointed out many things that this ceiling looked like (none of which i really remember), but all i could think of was "it looks a lot like cookie dough." and just had to get a picture of some of the tastiest looking bits of cave :)

Mesa Falls

The only other time I've been to Mesa Falls was in the middle of winter, during a skiing class (that I was always behind in, so I never really appreciated it much, except as a great spot to rest) This is an amazing place. I'm glad family was in town and took us out here, even if I was running on about 3 hours of sleep.

My street

This isn't the best look at it, but this whole street used to be full of houses. now its nothing but empty lots. as was pointed out in my prior post, this is a good case in point of the random empty lots between lots with people still living in them. We still aren't sure what they plan to do with it all

Tearing it all down

There has been a lot of construction going on around town.  houses and apartments being knocked down, often quicker than expected. you can walk past something in the morning, and by the evening, not even know it had once been there. some of the one's we've wondered about have been like this one, single houses between two still standing  buildings that they don't touch. we know a lot of them are going into new housing for students, but we can't help asking ourelves, what will become of the random single lot left?

Chewables

Because the liquid stuff made me almost throw up as i was drinking it, i decided to try others this time when my stomach was upset at me (for absolutely no reason!). it helped quite a bit, and it actually wasn't too horrible (though still really chalky)

Drive in

Some friends invited us to the drive in, which was quite a bit of fun. even if it made for a late night on a school night.

4th of July Spanish Rice

We made dinner for our neighbours who have a newborn.  Drew was creative and made the Spanish rice into an American flag.  We didn't think about it till later how funny it was that it was Spanish rice, in an American flag.
