After several years of not going to the eye doctor, I finally made it yesterday. I apparently don't need a new perscription, but I think we're going with new glasses that are a bit less beat up. These frames (the ones I ultimately chose) are also titanium, so they should be a bit more durable, and hold up a bit better. Here's to hoping!
As I've been finishing up the last few things that need unpacking, I came across these. As much as I want to hold on to them for nostalgia's sake. I debated it for a long while, if I really should keep them or not. But honestly, as much as I loved that class, the chances of me using these again is slim. So, I came to the conclusion that I should probably sell them.
I'm going to be making this into a blanket for J, and was trying to figure out the best way to quilt it to keep it together. The general opinion is to go around all of the major objects by hand. Glad I'm starting now, this could take a while.
We went to a playgroup that the ward was doing today. I hadn't been to this park yet, and frankly, didn't even realize it existed. This park is HUGE! It has a huge grassy area in the middle, and in each corner, a different layout park! I've never seen anything like it before. We'll definitely need to go back!
While out on the playground today, J informed me that the holes in the structure were "emojies" I have no idea where he even heard the term, nor even if he knows what they really are. It was pretty funny. I kept trying to call them holes, and he was very insistent that no, mom, they are emojies.
Yesterday, Drew took our car for a test drive to see what I meant by some problems I was describing having (which, of course, didn't show up for him) and he ended up at IKEA, and discovered this area of parts, which you can fill a bag with for just $3 a bag. We came back tonight to find some screws, and a bunch of allen wrenches, some nails, pull knobs, a bunch of stuff that we felt like grabbing that would be useful. It was an awesome find. We also ended up picking up some candles they had on clearance, and some drapes we've been wanting for our room. Overall, it was a great steal (eve if we probably shouldn't have spent the money)
Mom Baker and Shannon have been in town for the last week or so. When they've been around J has adored having Shannon here. We took a family walk tonight, along the canal by our house. It was nice to get out for a bit
Bonnie Jean and Justin and family happened to be down in Salt Lake to see Amy Sue and Michael before they head on a country wide trip to find a new home. So we decided to head up and see everyone. We had a lot of fun, and J LOVED to play with T and L. We ended the fun evening with some almost complete family pictures. Of course, they all ended up a bit crazy. :)
we went to graduation for this wonderful lady today. J didn't much care for the actual graduation ceremony, and I have to admit, I don't remember my graduation feeling that long. But it was great to be able to get out and support Miss R. :)
But not in red Pajama's! We took a different route home from the library today, since we were on bike, and I didn't feel like biking along the super noisy and busy main street. We discovered a llama by the elementary school. I was really amused, and J was super excited to see a real llama like in the awesome llama llama books. :)
Since we have a lot of family in town today, and are finally in a place we feel okay really inviting people over, we had family here for dinner tonight. We had a blast. Amy Sue happened to bring her computer to get help with it, and so we spent a while after dinner looking at old pictures. Man.... That was a lot of fun.
