At the church history museum

I went to the church history museum tonight with the Relief Society in my parents ward. They had this cool interactive screen (which is huge!)You can touch the screen to see facts about different areas during different times of the restoration of the church, and you can try and navigate a ship across the ocean without running into any rocks or being blown off course or anything (which I wasn't able to do - my ship crashed on a rock halfway across) It was so awesome!

For the first time in a long time, I decided to actually take some time and put my hair up all pretty.

Sacrament time book.

We've been having some issues with keeping J quiet during Sacrament, so I've been making a book to look at only during the sacrament to help us remember Jesus better.

platypuses on the ark

we were reading through a noah's ark book today, and I happened to noticed that there was a pair of platypuses that were coming off the ark. I was rather amused.

J has been enjoying looking at pictures in the Ensign. So, I decided to go dig this out and look at it with him. He loved seeing all the pictures.

tall tower

we had a ward breakfast and tithing settlement this morning. our tithing settlement was later in the morning, and we finished with breakfast rather early. so, we went and occupied J in the nursery for a while. it took us quite a while to distract all the kids that had joined us, but we eventually built up this tower with all the blocks. When we were ready for it, none of the kids wanted to come knock it down. it was rather amusing.

It was hard to get a good picture, since he decided to be so wiggly while trying to get a picture (when isn't he wiggly though?) The blessing outfit happens to also be Drew's old blessing outfit.

Swan Valley

We had our ward camp-out in this area.  This picture doesn't do it justice, and I forgot to take one before we left. We also didn't stay as long as we had planned due to weather and my hurting/not being able to walk as well as planned. so you get this horrible picture taken from the car. 

Back at it

Our ward organist has moved. this leaves two of us in the ward who can play the organ. The other girl who had been playing is on a trip these next two weeks, which means I get to go back at it. My carefully guarded secret that I could play (I really didn't want to be stuck back at the organ for another long while) is now out in the open. 

Refreshments

I had dinner and went to the Relief Society broadcast tonight with my visiting teacher.We had a great time.  they served amazing refreshments after the broadcast, but because i was still full from the dinner we had, I brought it home to share.  the Redvines were brought especially because drew loves them so much.

Ward temple night

At the bishop's house

we had a ward activity at the Bishop's house today, and we were both feeling up to going (though later left somewhat early as we were both feeling out of it). people were supposed to be able to float down the river, but no one really went while we were there.

Mother's day plant

for mothers day, our ward gave each couple a tomato plant. i'm super excited for this plant. we had to put it in the window at the end of our hall, since our apartment doesn't get any sunlight.

Two in One

I wait for trax by these two churches every day after work. I've always been amazed at the fact that two churches share the same building. One meets on Saturday, and one meets on Sunday. I don't know why I'm amazed by this, but somehow, I am

New Calling, again

So, for the new YSA ward, I have, once again, been called to play the piano. this time, i also have the choice of doing organ. I am the ward Organist/Pianest, who gets to play in sacrament meeting, and also it sounds like i've been unofficially asked to play for the ward choir.

i decided that if i ever have the chance to be able to learn a traditional dance of some sort, than this mexican dancing would be cool to learn.  even though i'm not even close to mexican, and i don't know a word of spanish besides "hola!"
