Sandy spot

We have a sandy spot in an empty lot (and spilling onto the sidewalk) near our house. J has been asking to go to the beach, so we made a compromise and went to this sandy spot to dig and play for a while this morning instead. 

Pretty little flower

We went out for a walk/bike ride tonight, and I found these pretty little flowers along the way. :) 

Different park

We went to a different park today, just to check it out. It wasn't our favorite, but, it wasn't bad. They had this cool climbing wall like thing, complete with a rope to help you climb up. They had another actual "rock" wall to climb, with holes in it, so we mostly just used that one to play around and through. And, of course, J just had to wear a cape. It was pretty awesome, and we had a lot of fun. 

Trees!

It still amazes me how many trees we have around our apartment, and I love it! 

Merry go round

At our new favorite park next door to the library is a merry go round. While I was a bit surprised to see one (didn't they get banned or something  a while ago because of too many injuries?) I was happy to have the chance to share it with J. It's become one of his favorite parts of the park. 

Super J

J found a dish towel, and begged me to put it on him like a cape. He didn't want to take it off all day, not even for bed. He loved running around the park with it, and pretending to be Super J! 

Awesome park!

 

We went to a playgroup that the ward was doing today. I hadn't been to this park yet, and frankly, didn't even realize it existed. This park is HUGE! It has a huge grassy area in the middle, and in each corner, a different layout park! I've never seen anything like it before. We'll definitely need to go back! 

"emojies"

While out on the playground today, J informed me that the holes in the structure were "emojies" I have no idea where he even heard the term, nor even if he knows what they really are. It was pretty funny. I kept trying to call them holes, and he was very insistent that no, mom, they are emojies. 

Visiting Grandma Johnson's

We went down to visit Grandma Johnson today, and discovered she now has quite the backyard for kids. J LOVED this sandbox, and was very sad to leave it. 

Sunday walk

I stayed after church today to try out ward choir, and told Drew I would just walk home. This was a good part of my walk home. I was in heaven. :)

We were outside for a while this morning, and J took the camera from me and started taking pictures of the neighbours. They were, unfortunately, the only pictures taken today

family walk

We found a cool trail by our house, and decided to go exploring as a family tonight. It was nice to get out and walk as a family for a while :) We discovered it goes almost all the way to our church. 

Stormy night

We had an awesome storm tonight, with actually a fair amount of lightning. I tried to get several pictures of it, but none of them really did it justice. So, here's a picture of some trees bending in the wind :)

One thing we've been loving about our new house is the playground, right outside. J loves being able to go out frequently. I've also been loving the trees right outside our house. It's been so awesome to actually have a friendly and inviting outside, outside our windows! :D

Park day

Or, well, afternoon really. We needed a break to get out of the house and do something fun for a while. So, we went to a nearby park. It wasn't the coolest, but it was something different, which was nice.
