J as a ghost

as it has gotten colder, I've been walking around the house with a blanket wrapped around me in the mornings. Apparently J has been watching, because when I put the blanket on his head later today, instead of pulling it off and playing peek a boo with it like normal, he started to walk around the house that way. I was rather amused :)

One of J's shoes came off while we were wandering around the park (and on the way to go pet the very excited doggie), and he didn't want to stop to let me put it back on

J has been wanting to experiment more with using utensils, so today we had some yogurt. all in all, he didn't do too badly.

J loves to play with the camera (something I allow probably a lot more than I should) and managed to take a pretty good selfie today :)

J is definitely becoming more and more grown up, incuding realizing he can throw tantrums about stuff he doesn't like. this was during a tantrum, and distracting from whatever the problem at the time was.

Drew and J at the park

Drew was actually able to come with us to the park today, and J seemed to rather enjoy having Drew with us. 

Inside day

I know this doesn't show it well, but we spent the day inside. I wasn't feeling great, and didn't feel like going anywhere (and happily didn't have anywhere we had to go). J brought be the camera some time in the day and we took pictures. this was the best of the bunch

Pumpkins

I found a tutorial for making a pumpkin garland out of yarn and some pipe cleaners. After one try at a pumpkin that failed horribly, I got the technique down (I just needed to get it all tighter) and made some very cute pumpkins. J loves to carry them around out (and unfortunately start to pull them apart) so I'll have to get the up on the door very soon. but I love how they turned out!

Blankets

No northern lights

Because of cool space stuff we were supposed to be able to see the northern lights. however, none ever showed up, so instead of a cool northern lights picture, you get a blank sky picture

Red Berries

We have trees all over town that have been getting super red berries. In years past, they generally turn orange, so I'm not sure what the difference is this year, but they are beautiful

Picking apples

I knew that the school apple orchard was open, and needed some apples for tonight's dinner. So, I took J up to the orchard with me, and we started to pick apples. J wasn't too into it at first, in fact, he didn't want to walk around and explore at all. but after he picked up on what I was doing, he really got into the spirit and wanted to help out. He LOVED picking up apples off the ground and putting them into the bag. It was hard to convince him that no, we really didn't want the super rotten ones, and no, we really don't need ALL the apples that had dropped under every single tree. It was pretty cute :)

Just the right size

one of the things we were sent home with from Drew's parents was this milk crate full of canned foods. While I was emptying it out and putting stuff in the pantry, J decided it looked like the perfect place to sit and cuddle with his glow worm.
